Itinerary
Either take the transfer Shuttle bus from Nairobi and drive to Tanzania through Namanga border point or on arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will meet our office representative for briefing and our driver for the transfer to Moshi/Arusha hotel for an overnight on bed and breakfast in readiness for the next day’s Mount Kilimanjaro climbing Lemosho 10 days climb.
You will drive from Moshi/Arusha to Lemosho Park gate, from here follow a forest truck in a 4Ă—4 vehicle for 11 km, taking 45 minutes to Lemosho glades and a possible campsite start your 10 Days Mount Kilimanjaro Lemosho climb from here.
From the glades walk for 3 hours along beautiful forest trails to the Mti Mkubwa (big tree) campsite at 2,750m/ 9,020ft.
This is your summiting day; you will rise around 11:30 pm, and have tea and biscuits, you shuffle off into the night. Your 6 hours climb northwest up through heavy scree between the Rebman and Ratzel glacier to Stella point on the crater rim is the most challenging part of the route for most climber.
At Stella point (5,720m/18,765fts) you stop for a short rest and a chance to see a supremely sanguine sunrise. At Stella point you join the top part of the Marangu route, but do not stop here too long, as it will be extremely difficult to start again due to the cold and fatigue.
Depending on the season and recent storms, you may encounter snow on your remaining hike along the rim to Uhuru peak. On the summit you can enjoy your accomplishment and know that you are creating a day for that you will remember for the rest of your life.
After your 3 hours descend from the summit and hike down a rock and scree path into a moorland and eventually into the forest of Mweka camp (3,100m/10,170fts). This camp is in the upper forest, so you can expect mist or rain in the late afternoon. Din r, and washing water will be prepared, and the camp office sells drinking water, soft drinks, chocolates, and be prepared, and the camp beer.
After breakfast, it is a short, scenic, 3 hours hike back to the park gate. At Mweka you sign out of the park. This is where also the successive climbers receive their certificates for reaching up. From Mweka gate, you are driven back to Moshi/Arusha for an overnight in a Hotel finishing your 10 Days Mount Kilimanjaro Lemosho climb tomorrow.
