Serengeti Ngorongoro Tarangire safari Itinerary
Pick up from your Hotel in Arusha by Snowpeaks Tours Representative, start your 6 Days Tanzania Midrange Safari in Lake Manyara National Park, game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, dinner and overnight at a midrange lodge/tented camp.
Lake Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large waterbirds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks.
After breakfast depart for Serengeti National Park, en-route game drive, picnic lunch and afternoon a short game drive in Serengeti Park, dinner and overnight at a midrange lodge/ tented camp.
Full day in Serengeti dedicated to morning, mid-morning and afternoon game drives. All meals and overnight at camp. Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle.
The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates Tanzania’s greatest park. Golden-maned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowls the southeastern plains. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species occur here, alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat.
midrange lodge/ tented camp
After breakfast descend in to the Crater floor for full day game drive with parked lunches , dinner and overnight at midrange lodge/ tented camp.
After breakfast drive to Tarangire. Afternoon game drive in search of wildlife, meals and overnight at a midrange lodge/tented camp .
The park owes its name to Tarangire River, which flows across the area. It is characterized by dense vegetation of acacia and mixed woodland, the area around Tarangire River however, is dominated by huge baobab trees and old doum palm trees to a lesser prominence, as well as black cotton grass. Though it is not as famous as other parks in the north, Tarangire offers the same attractions as other parks in the north. Its unique aspect is the annual animal immigration that takes place during the dry season.
After breakfast enjoy a morning walking Safari just at the park border, then depart for Arusha.
This marks the end of your Serengeti Ngorongoro Tarangire safari.
