Chyulu hills and Amboseli Walking Safari

Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi, after briefing at 0730hrs by our tour representative before departure, drive towards Amboseli national park at the foot of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro to arrive at the camp in good time for lunch.

You Will take a short rest after lunch as you wait for an afternoon Game drive. Amboseli is famous for its big game – elephants, Lions and cheetahs are the
main attractions – and for its great Scenery beauty. Amboseli embodies five main wildlife habitats, Swampy land plus generally dry lake bed, lake Amboseli, open Plains extensive stands species of acacia woodland. Dinner and Overnight in a camp.

You will have early morning game drive and return to the camp for breakfast and packing. Depart the camp soon after breakfast and take 3 hour drive down Mombasa road with lunch break on the way to Kibwezi. Here you will leave the tarmac, and take a dirt road, for the 20 km to Chyulu campsite where you arrive late afternoon and pitch up the camp and later take an evening short guided walk by our guide and an armed ranger around in the park which has large mammals include buffalo, Bushbucks, elands, elephants, leopards, giant forest hogs, bush Pigs, reedbucks and giraffes along with various reptiles and Insects. Return to the campsite for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will have a full day to explore into the one of the longest caves in the world – leviathan. These caves, relatively rare worldwide, were formed when Molten lava, of specific type and viscosity flowed down a slope of a specific angle. The surface layer cooled and solidified, but the lower part, still molten, continued to flow on down.
At this point, somewhere up the hillside a collapse of the surface crust occurred through which air enters, and so a tube evacuated itself just below the surface. Spent the day down in the caves looking at some of the fascinating formations found therein -link holes, lava ropes, stalagmites and stalactites, benches and of course the secondary, water formed features. Return to the Camp in the afternoon for resting, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will set for an early morning drive near the Hills where you will start a hike to the top of the Chyulu hills. You will have a superb walking country side with gently undulating grasslands, interspersed with dense patches of forest. Possibility of viewing herds of eland and other antelope, Giraffe, zebra and wildebeest with slightly lesser chance to see Elephant, lion and buffalo and the other game that live in the area. If the weather permits, you can get views of Mount Kilimanjaro 50 km away. Return the vehicle and drive back to the camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast and packing, depart the Chyulu hills and drive back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon, Ending your 5 days Chyulu hills Safari.
