Ngare Ndare Day Trip

The driver will pick you up from your hotel at 7.15 AM, drive 48km from Nanyuki to Timau, Meru county. Pick your ranger at the gate and proceed for the game drive, best time to start the Ngare Ndare Day Trip is between 8AM-10AM to spot animals before they hide from the midday sun.

After the morning game drive, you may depending on your interest you may: rock climb, take a walk in the forest, go bird watching. In the afternoon go to the canopy walk and later to the blue ponds where you can swim.

The canopy walk is 450m long bridge suspended 30 feet above the ground, its the longest canopy walk in East Africa. The canopy walk ends on a high platform where you can view elephants and other animals drinking from a swamp below.

Ngare Ndare has over 200 bird species, making Ngare Ndare a bird watchers haven, however, some bird species are migratory. Some rare bird species found here are Hurtlabs turaco & Narina trogon.
Ngare Ndare is home to the big five, bushbucks, hyenas, warthogs, colobus monkeys among other animals.

After the day trip, the driver will be drop you at the hotel, a trip to mount Kenya, Samburu safari, visit to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a non profit wildlife conservancy Central Kenya's Laikipia County would be convenient from here.
